A Delightful Brunch at Another Broken Egg – Jacksonville, FL

A few weeks ago, my mother and I decided to treat ourselves to a classic brunch experience, something that I used to love doing in a previous life as we would sip mimosas and spill tea every saturday morning. I hoped to share the experience of what brunch could be with her and the team at Another Broken Egg made it an incredibly memorable experience, thanks for that. We went to the Another Broken Egg location off Kernan Boulevard in Jacksonville, FL. From the moment we stepped in, the ambiance of the place made me feel more human, more welcomed than I’ve felt in a very long time. It’s not every day you find a spot that instantly makes you feel at home.

Our waitress, embodying the classic Jacksonville aura of sweet and sophisticated Floridian made our experience even more special. She went above and beyond, bringing us a Biscuit Beignet to try on the house. Like… holy yum… This southern-style beignet, dusted with powdered sugar and served with honey marmalade, was not only a delightful surprise but also incredibly delicious, setting a high bar for the rest of our meal.

The Shrimp ‘N Grits I ordered were nothing short of spectacular. Gulf shrimp and andouille sausage sautéed with red peppers and onions, all nestled atop creamy cheese grits in a spicy low country reduction. The dish was an immersive blend of flavors fit for a “connoisseur” on the classic dish, as I like to self proclaim. It’s a dish I find myself regularly ordering on any given menu where it finds its debut.

But what truly stood out was their S’mores Cold Brew. This wasn’t just any iced coffee; it was an deliciously perfect concoction of chocolate cold brew and espresso, topped with a graham cracker chocolate rim, marshmallow cream topping, and a sprinkle of graham crumbs. Accompanied by the best bourbon you could ask for, it was a drink that warmed and awakened the weary soul.

This visit was the first time in a while I remembered to take pictures of my meal, a testament to how exceptional the experience was. Another Broken Egg didn’t just serve us food; they served us memories, comfort, and joy. For the first time in a long time, I felt genuinely welcomed, a feeling so profound that words barely do it justice.

To the team at Another Broken Egg off Kernan Boulevard, thank you. Thank you for making us feel at home, for the delicious food, and for the kindness we were shown. It’s an experience that has stayed with me, and I am already looking forward to my next visit.
