Vegan(ish)

I have something to confess. I am no longer completely vegan. I still find that living a mostly plant-based lifestyle works well in my favor health-wise. But the functionality of being vegan all the time is just not manageable for my daily routines. I find myself short on time most days and late for events regularly.

If you couldn’t tell I do a lot of things around here and have the memory of a goldfish. Having quick and easy meal option is a priority for my life. While I try to prepare ahead, often times I find myself with 100 hours of work and only 24 hours a day. So I weighted the option.

Pros AKA work more less fun

  • clearer skin
  • more energy
  • overall better health

Cons (AKA more fun less work)

  • lack of vegan food options

While I still fully believe that veganism is the best way to live your life. At this moment in my life it’s just not functional on a daily basis. I’m terrible at planning ahead and preparing. Despite what you may think. In fact, my lack of time management skills this morning has led me to Chick-fil-A today (their breakfast burrito which is OMG delicious).

However, I have a system of rules to keep my health in check. I follow these in my daily eating habits just because it makes me feel better about consuming animal products. I still have a conscience living and breathing things and feel guilty when I eat them. I also know my overall health has been tremendously better since I started being more conscious of my plant-based life. So here are the rules I live by.

Palmer’s Rules to Vegan(ish) Living

  • stay away from pork and Beef
  • only consume chicken and fish
  • limit it to one meal per day which meat per day (less if possible)
  • If its going to happen make sure that its fried or stuffed with cheese (otherwise its not worth it)
  • Live a vegan lifestyle by shopping for only non-animal products

I know my body feels better when I am eating less meat, and health results are proof of that, validated by the Doc. The reality is I just don’t have the time to make it possible on a daily basis. I felt like I should tell you all this because I am trying my best to be transparent in most all areas of my life and hopefully what I do inspires your confidence, happiness, and health.

I’ll continue posting vegan recipes from time to time, but as you can see, the focus is now on informative skin care tips and the Palmer Proper Supply Co product line. Recipe type postings take up a lot of time and I need to focus on myself and my mental wellness above all else. Low key, y’all take up a lot of my time and energy (I wouldn’t change it for the world). That said, I’ll also be incorporating more dairy products into some of the new recipes as well because, honestly, living out without cheese was rough (I still think milk is gross though).

In end by saying that I will still avoid animal products and by products when formulating skincare products and continue promoting the company as a cruelty free skincare company. I feel that there is no need to use or test animals for the sake of beauty. Hopefully you’ll still continue supporting as I do my best to live #NaturallyBetter in everything I do. Stay tuned for more to come!
